In a new project for 2015, we’ve sent a camera trap all the way to South Africa to see what wildlife it can uncover on safari.

The SafariSpy project involves eager volunteers taking the SafariSpy camera trap to different parts of South Africa to capture wildlife and learn more about camera trapping.

Keep an eye on the project page to see the latest updates on the camera trap’s travels and discoveries, and you can track its progress on the map below.

South Africa is one of the top ten most biodiverse countries in the world and is home to approximately 300 mammal species, big and small – so fingers crossed we will find something!
