Back to all Flintshire events
Brookhill was a slightly different site to all the others in the iWild North Wales project – its very small, and consists of 22 man-made ponds (a great home for newts). We had heard whisperings of adders and water vole at the site, but it was hard to predict what we’d find here beforehand.
After 3 weeks, the camera traps revealed a few of the usual suspects – foxes, pigeons, rabbits etc – and also a few ‘newbie’ species to the project – the first grey heron, moorhen and Canada goose appearances!
We did attempt to capture some of the reptile species that may be living here, but unfortunately without success – however, we hope to go back in the summer for another attempt…!
